John Barrowman has announced that his upcoming UK tour has been cancelled, with him saying that he is “devastated” to no longer be touring his show next year. The actor had been due to embark on a nine-date UK tour next year, following the release of his album Centre Stage.
John Barrowman posted a lengthy statement on Instagram to fans on Monday night (20.12.2022) as he apologized to fans. In the emotional text post, John Barrowman wrote:
The former Doctor Who star was set to perform songs from his most recent album at The Bridgewater Hall on February 2 on the first leg of his Centre Stage tour. However, the entertainer said that it is ‘no longer economically viable’ to go on the road.
“Personally I am devastated and like many people I have found the last years extremely difficult, possibly the hardest few years of my life. When it gets tough it is sometimes better to stop and re-evaluate and that is exactly what I am going to do. I am so sorry to all my fans,” he concluded the post.
One wrote: “Very sad you’ve had to cancel the tour, but high praise to you for being so honest about the reason & not stringing people along with an excuse. I hope that the tour can be put on again in the near future.”
